About Beyond the Chart
The Story
This is a story about sailing into the unknown.
In this world, charts have edges. Beyond the edges lies blank space — not unexplored, but explored by people who never came back. Kael and the crew of the Grey Gull chose to sail into that blank. They discovered that where chart markings end, the sea begins operating by a different set of rules.
Seven anomalous seas. Seven ways reality can be twisted. The Equalizing Sea erases all difference. The Fracture Sea shatters space. The Gyre disrupts time... Each sea is a test of what it means to be human.
Tone
Vast. Unknown. Cold. Where the chart markings end, the sea operates by rules no one understands. No one knows what those rules are, or where the boundaries lie.
Warm. Exploration-driven. Tightly paced. The world is cold, but the people on the ship are not. They argue, make mistakes, protect each other, and keep sailing forward.
Structure
A long-form serial with multiple volumes. Each volume corresponds to one anomalous sea — one test of human nature.
